Evidence Snapshot

  • Jurisdiction: the regulatory walkthrough concerns gambling services for Great Britain; do not apply its result automatically to another market.
  • Completed examples: Sky gaming and sports entities, Foxy's active versus inactive records, and Betfair's product-specific records.
  • Evidence checked: 7 September 2026. Sources are official company disclosures and Gambling Commission records.
  • Verification scope: public evidence only; no registration, deposits, withdrawals or private customer accounts were tested.

One check, with five pieces of evidence

The UKGC's account-opening guidance directs people to the website or app footer and the public register. Start from the actual service you are investigating, because a search for a parent group's name can return a company that is not responsible for that product. When several companies are listed, retain the product labels beside them.

Keep a short note as you go. A name remembered from an old review is not a substitute for the current source, and a bare licence number loses its meaning when separated from the company. These five steps produce a result someone else can reproduce without seeing your customer account.

  1. Record the brand, product, exact web address and country context. A casino query and a sportsbook query may require different company records.
  2. Read the service's legal footer, licensing information or applicable agreement. Note the complete company name and any UKGC account reference.
  3. Search the UKGC business register using that company or account. Open the licence summary and inspect the relevant activity, remote status and current status.
  4. Open the domain section for the same business account. Record the exact address and its status; compare any apparent historical match separately.
  5. Write the source URLs, check date, observed result and remaining uncertainty. Investigate customer terms separately when the question concerns an account or promotion.

Completed check: Sky Vegas and the current gaming company

The starting disclosure was Sky's official licensing and regulation page, checked on 7 September 2026. It names Bonne Terre Gaming Limited for bingo, casino games and poker, gives Gibraltar company registration 124753, and identifies UKGC reference 065519. That is a concrete company-and-product statement from the business itself.

The corresponding UKGC business record 65519 names Bonne Terre Gaming Limited and shows active remote casino and bingo permissions, with licence reference 065519-R-339675-002. Its domain section includes www.skyvegas.com as active. This completes the disclosure-to-company-to-permission-to-domain match.

Result recorded on 7 September 2026: Sky's gaming disclosure and the regulator's current company, activity and domain entries align for the selected Sky Vegas example. This is a successful public-record match. It does not establish customer-service quality, test a gambling account or verify all conditions that could apply to a particular person.

The company registration number, UKGC business account and full operating-licence reference serve different purposes. They should not be copied into one undifferentiated licence field. In this example, the account is 65519; the leading zero in the fuller licence reference does not turn it into a different business account.

Why the older Bonne Terre result is not the same company match

Searching only the familiar words Bonne Terre can lead to Bonne Terre Limited, account 38718. Its listed permissions show surrendered status, ending on 31 October 2025. That is a different legal name and account from Bonne Terre Gaming Limited, 65519. The older result must stay attached to its own company.

The practical correction is to return to the complete name in the current official disclosure and follow that record. Do not erase the word Gaming, substitute the older account, or infer that the current brand is unlicensed from the old record alone. The separate Sky Bet row also shows why a sports-company match should not stand in for a gaming-company match.

For the surrounding corporate relationships, the Flutter group map puts the current Sky companies beside Betfair, Paddy Power, tombola and PokerStars. Corporate inclusion is a further piece of context; the completed operator check above does not depend on guessing from it.

Completed conflict check: Foxy under 888 UK and LC International

Here the starting question is different: an old company association appears to conflict with a current one. We compared the same exact domain in two regulator records on the same date. This was a register-to-register comparison; it was not a claim that Foxy's own legal footer or customer-migration notices had been fully audited.

The table preserves both results. The inactive status belongs to the domain under 888 UK. The active status belongs to the domain under LC International. A status without its company and record number would lose the information needed to explain why both results exist.

The Foxy result, and the questions it leaves open

The supported conclusion is that the current active domain association found in these records is LC International's, while the 888 association is inactive. LC International's licence summary separately showed active remote bingo and casino permissions. This supports the current operating-evidence context without treating the old row as a closure notice.

The records do not tell us the exact migration date, whether a particular old customer balance transferred, or which terms govern that customer's account history. Resolving those questions would require the relevant official notices or direct account support. Writing an invented migration story would weaken an otherwise complete comparison.

The 888 Casino sister-sites page is useful when the claim originated in an 888 list. The Entain group article provides the LC International side of the current map. The guide to what sister site means explains why an inactive association and a present-day group relationship should receive different labels.

Completed product check: one Betfair domain, different activities

Betfair's official regulatory table identifies Betfair Casino Limited for gaming, PPB Counterparty Services Limited for sports betting and TSE Malta LP for the exchange, among other entities. We matched those three examples to their UKGC activity summaries and domain records on 7 September 2026.

The domain alone cannot choose between them, because the same registered address appears under each company. The result becomes meaningful only when the activity is retained. The gaming example is also not an assertion that Betfair Casino Limited operates every Betfair game; Betfair's disclosure lists additional gaming entities.

How to handle missing, different or misleading matches

The register's field definitions distinguish licence status from domain status and explain that domain and trading-name information is supplied by the business. An active domain row is therefore an item of declared record data, not a fresh demonstration that a website accepts registrations. Inspect the licence activity as well as the domain.

If a domain is missing, retain the exact address you investigated and note whether a redirect changed it. A spelling difference, mobile hostname, historical record or product-specific entity may explain the mismatch; none should be assumed to explain it without evidence. Search by the disclosed company and account, then ask the operator to clarify any remaining difference.

If the company disclosure and the relevant active permission cannot be reconciled, leave the operator claim unresolved. Do not supply payment or identity documents merely to test a site whose identity you cannot establish. The UKGC's account-opening guide links to its confidential reporting route for suspected unlicensed activity.

Regulatory history is not a customer review

The business record can also lead to regulatory actions. The Commission's register guidance says that business details remain for three years after a licence ends, and sanctions and settlements remain for three years from publication. Consequently, an empty current action list is not proof that a company has never faced regulatory action.

When reading an action, retain the company, date, activity and outcome. A historic action and a current active permission can coexist. Neither should be converted into an invented safety score, a claim that every related brand has the same history, or a guarantee about an individual transaction.

An operator check ends when the defined public evidence has been matched or the remaining mismatch has been stated. Personal disputes, promotion eligibility and exclusions require their own evidence. Use the sister-sites directory for named relationship research and responsible-gambling resources for support; operator mapping is not a route around an account restriction.

FAQ

Should I search the brand or the legal company?

Use both, but preserve the complete company name from the current disclosure and confirm its account number. Brand searches can return old entities, unrelated mentions or several product operators. The completed Sky example shows why a small difference in company name can identify a different record.

Is the UKGC account number the company's registration number?

No. They identify different records. In the Sky gaming example, the company disclosure gives Gibraltar registration 124753, while the UKGC business account is 65519. The full operating-licence reference adds further components. Record each under its own label so another person can reproduce the check.

Does Active beside a domain mean I can register today?

No. It establishes the status recorded for that address under the company, not a completed registration test. The relevant permission and current official service information still matter. This guide did not create accounts and cannot establish eligibility or present-day access for an individual visitor.

What if a domain is inactive under one operator and active under another?

Record both company-specific results, as in the Foxy example. The active association may supply the current evidence while the inactive row explains an older list. The pair does not automatically establish migration dates, customer-account treatment or the closure of the brand as a whole.

Is a casino licence enough to identify the exchange operator?

No. Inspect the activity relevant to the product. Betfair's selected records distinguish casino, sports betting and betting-intermediary activity. The same domain appears under different entities, so the domain match must be combined with the official product assignment and the corresponding permission.

Can this check settle a bonus or self-exclusion question?

No. It identifies the relevant public company and product evidence. A bonus needs the applicable offer terms, and an exclusion needs its actual scope confirmed with the operator. Do not treat a different legal company or a newly found sister brand as permission to bypass restrictions.
